    Adviser on five winning deals, The Banker Deals of the Year

    Rothschild Global Advisory named Most Innovative Independent Investment Bank, Most Innovative for Consumer and Retail

    Rothschild advised on five winning deals at this year's The Banker Deals of the Year:

    • Eurobank's capital increase was named European Capital Raising of the Year. This was part of Rothschild's advice to the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund on the recapitalisation of the four systemic Greek banks
    • The €16.7bn privatisation IPO of ABN AMRO, raising €3.8bn, was named European Equities Deal of the Year. Rothschild advised NL Financial Investments on the IPO.
    • Lafarge and Holcim's €60bn merger and €6.5bn sale of assets to CRH was named European M&A Deal of the Year
    • Teva Pharmaceutical's US$7.4bn concurrent offering of common stock and mandatory convertible preferred securities was named Middle Eastern Equities Deal of the Year
    • Al Noor Hospitals Group's £6.9bn combination with Mediclinic was named Middle Eastern M&A Deal of the Year

    The Banker Deals of the Year selects winning transactions across a range of deal types for each of five regions. Primary judging criteria are: meeting of client objectives, deal complexity, innovation, and the challenges of the deal environment. The 2016 awards considered deals that completed in the 12 months to 31 March 2016.




    Rothschild Global Advisory received two awards at this year's The Banker Investment Banking Awards:

    • Most Innovative Independent Investment Bank
    • Most Innovative Investment Bank for Consumer and Retail Goods


    For the Independent Investment Bank category, judges cited our global scale and the breadth of our track record across the full range of clients, sectors and markets.

    For the Consumer and Retail category, the complexity of our transactions and our market share in the sector were highlighted.  

    The awards are global in their coverage and reflect the achievements of our business worldwide.
