Steven Kwok: Managing Director, Head of Greater China

Steven has extensive experience in private equity investing in China and joined from Credit Suisse Private Equity Asia Partners L.P. where he was a Managing Director and Head of Greater China. Before CSPE, Steven was a Managing Director at Orchid Asia, an independent China-focused private equity fund managing more than US$500 million of capital. He has also worked for The Carlyle Group in Asia and for Salomon Brothers in New York. Steven is a native of China and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. 

Michael Guan: Director 

Michael has more than ten years of investment banking experience in China and Hong Kong, including six years with Rothschild. He has extensive experience working with SOEs and private companies in China on cross-border M&A and capital raisings. Prior to Rothschild, he worked for Bear Stearns and Rabobank in Hong Kong and McKinsey & Co. in Shanghai. Michael is a native Chinese and graduated with an MBA degree from the University of Oxford. 

Clara Chak: Vice President

Prior to JRE, Clara worked in the GE Capital investment team in Asia. Prior to GE, she worked in the PE practice of Sun Hung Kai Properties Direct Investment and Emerging Markets Partnership (Principal Advisor to AIG Asian Infrastructure Funds). Clara received her economics and political science bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto. She holds an LLB degree from the University of London and an MBA from Chinese University Hong Kong. Clara is a CFA. 

Zhe Li: Associate

Prior to JRE, Zhe worked in the corporate finance practice of McKinsey & Co., based in Beijing. Zhe graduated with a master’s and bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University. Zhe is a certified general accountant (CGA), conferred by the Association of Canada.
