Rothschild’s Merchant Banking division deploys the firm’s capital, alongside that of trusted partners, in investment opportunities worldwide.

Our investing philosophy is deeply rooted in our 200 year history. From the beginning, the Rothschild family built trusted, long-term relationships with clients by providing them with expert financial advice, helping them to raise capital and, from time to time, investing alongside them. This approach has contributed to the successful development of our firm and our clients.

We invest with successful entrepreneurs, helping them develop their business in the medium term, and partner with professional financial investors. We see ourselves as an active shareholder ready to deploy Rothschild’s skills and resources for the benefit of the companies in our portfolio.

Our Merchant Banking division manages more than €1 billion of funds globally and presently operates through four investment strategies:

• Five Arrows Principal Investments (FAPI): A mid-market private equity fund focused on Western Europe.

• R Capital Management: A European growth equity fund with specific expertise in the IT, healthcare and energy sectors.

• Jardine Rothschild Exor Partners (JRE): A joint venture investing growth capital with a regional focus on greater China and India.

• Five Arrows Secondary Opportunities (FASO): A European small and mid-cap secondary fund.
