Application Process

Stage 1 - Consider

Before applying to Rothschild we would encourage you to learn about Rothschild in order to tailor your application to our organisation.

You should have read the following areas of our website;

We also hold events. To see if we are holding an event close to you please visit the events section of our website. We look forward to meeting with you.

Stage 2 - Apply

To apply for our Undergraduate positions you must complete our online application form.

The application form is your first chance to show us that you have what we are looking for and convince us to invite you in for an interview to find out more about you. Therefore, the way you present yourself is crucial to your success in the recruiting process.

In addition to completing an application, you must ensure you comply with any specific requirements or procedures that your university may require.

To find our application deadlines please refer to the Key Dates section of the website.

Please note that there are specific language requirements for some of our European and Asian offices. If you are studying in a European country, you may be asked to submit grade transcripts (Germany, Italy and Spain). Please ensure you include these documents, otherwise your application will be incomplete.

Prior to submitting your application please ensure you check the accuracy of your application.

Stage 3 - Interviews

What to expect?

If your application is successful you will be invited to interview with us. There will be a minimum of two stages to the interview process

You will be invited to attend a first round interview which is typically 30 minutes in duration with 1-2 people conducting the interview. You may also be asked to sit a verbal and numerical test.

If you perform well at the first interview you will be invited to interview with us again. The second round typically consists of at least 2 interviews again with 1-2 interviewers. For some of our main recruitment programmes, you may be invited to meet some of our recent Graduates to help you decide if Rothschild is right for you.

Preparation is key to the interview.

  • Know yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, what motivates you and above all demonstrate your enthusiasm for the position. Display to us that your academic record, work experience and extracurricular activities have all added to your development and are appropriate to your application
  • Know us: what are our business areas; what are our core values: what makes us different. Look at our website to see the recent deals and transactions we have been involved with
  • Ask questions: use this opportunity to learn more about Rothschild and the Investment Banking Industry

Stage 4 - Offer

If you are successful, an offer will be communicated to you, typically within a week. We will prepare your offer letter for you and talk you through the highlights.

Please note that if you receive another offer before our interview process has begun please contact us, stating the name of the firm from which you have received an offer, and the expiry date of your offer. Should your online application to us be successful, we will then aim to ensure you are in a position to decide between other offers by the set deadline.
