The Wider Community
As our school partnerships develop, we are keen to seek ways of extending our support to some of the many grass-roots community organisations providing invaluable support to local residents. Our focus is increasingly on organisations with links to the Bow and South Camden areas, so that we are able to support not just our partner schools but the wider communities of which they are a part.
An emerging relationship with Malmesbury Primary School, a feeder school to Bow, and strengthening links with the Bromley by Bow Centre are examples of this approach.
- Performance by staff of a show of music and sketches and an auction at, and in aid of, Chats Palace Community Arts Centre in Hackney.
- Sponsoring and hosting for SkyWay youth project an exhibition of street art created by young people in Shoreditch as part of a project designed to give them a legitimate outlet for their creativity.
- Planning and running two Christmas parties in partnership with the Bromley by Bow Centre: one for teenage mothers and their children, and the other for the centre's Working Wonders group for elderly people and people with physical disabilities.
